Discover Alaska & the Inside Passage

Vikings Ocean Cruise Alaska & the Inside Passage has been a popular itinerary among our guests recently. This 11-day cruise immerses travelers in misty fjords, lush forests and gleaming walls of ice. Guests can pan for gold, meet local Tlingit, and hear tales both tall and true of a region filled with Wild West spirit.

Imagine Going There Travelers, Scott and Liz reported that Alaska & the Inside Passage was a blast! Their favorite part of the trip was the wildlife, including whales, bears, eagles, salmon, and more!

Clients, Mary Beth and Ron, also went on Viking's Alaska & the Inside Passage. Their highlights are below.

Cruising Glacier Bay was a treat, enhanced by the National Park Rangers who came aboard to answer questions and provide insight into the park.

We found a wide variety of excursions. Here is an Iditarod dog from our sledding excursion in Seward.  (No, sadly we couldn’t bring a puppy home!)

The Viking Orion in Valdez,  the ships are beautiful and set against the mountains and blue sky even more so.

Finally, Carol Sweet's favorite parts of cruising Alaska & the Inside Passage were learning about the salmon and the native culture and peoples of Alaska.

She said, "Ketchikan and Sitka were small towns where we learned about the salmon and the various stages of the life of the Salmon. In some places, they were so numerous, they were clumped together and jumping out of the water. We visited Totem Poles and a Clan House where we learned about the culture and native peoples of Alaska."
